Real-data archive inspector · v5.4.17
Read-only bridge between the sibling A8 data archive and the laboratory. This page does not feed source timestamps, published periods, or archive values into defining recovery.
WALLFLOWER PLACARD · WHAT DO I DO HERE?
Put observatory downloads in the sibling A8 data folder and press REFRESH DATA INVENTORY.
The bridge finds them, fingerprints them, classifies their general form, and lets you inspect samples. INSPECT means LOOK, not IMPORT.
Nothing on this page changes the clock or recovery engine. A source file crosses into A8 only after its physical columns are understood and a deterministic adapter is verified.
Nature first → source encoding second → verified reduction → native A8 representation → recovery last.
ANGLE TRANSLATION WALL · 360 → 512
Standard observatory angular values stay intact as source evidence. When an angle is actually required by the A8 adapter, the exact translation is:
A8 angle = legacy degrees × 64/45
Fractional octal digits preserve observatory precision. Conventional decimal remains secondary after the wall.
Shared scale: 1 A8 angle unit = 45/64 legacy degree, and independently 1 A8 minute = 45/64 legacy minute.
REAL OBSERVATION REPLAY · CONNECTED TO CORE
This is the live ingress now. A .a8obs stream feeds the same WEST/EAST detector used by the hidden plant.
rawPulse + moon + signed Jupiter-relative displacement x
x does not need −1…+1 normalization and does not need a 360→512 angle conversion. A signed Jupiter-relative pixel offset, arcsecond offset, or equivalent observed east-west coordinate is enough for turn detection.
Original files stay read-only. START / RESTART clears replay recovery evidence and remains in REAL_OBSERVATION_REPLAY. EXIT returns source ownership to the simulated plant.
Separation rule
Archive/replay harness may know conventional source timestamps. The A8 recovery layer may not. For connected .a8obs replay, defining input remains observational state plus an arbitrary monotonic raw pulse counter.
A three-column mutual-event light curve is not called an apparent x-position stream unless a documented physical reduction creates one.

File inspection
Replay-ready .a8obs inspection will also populate the Relative .a8obs path above. It will not auto-load or alter core state.
Archive files
SHA-256 is calculated read-only so original evidence can later be checked for accidental changes.
Replay contract — .a8obs connected; raw archives still gated
Verified positional reductions may be converted to moon identity, Jupiter-relative observed x, visibility/uncertainty, and an arbitrary replay pulse count. Raw downloaded files remain gated until their actual columns and physical reduction are verified.
